SSC & HSC re-exams to be held on July 17

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: Those who failed in two subjects this year in State Secondary Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination 2018, will get a second chance.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced the dates for re-examination to be held on July 17. For the first time, both re-examinations will be held on the same day.

Students who have failed in two subjects will be allowed to keep term (ATKT) which will enable them to seek admission for a temporary period until they clear the remaining subjects. In case if a student fails in the second attempt, he/she will get one more chance in March 2019 exam. However, the student’s result of Std XI will be declared only after he/she clears remaining papers of Std X.

This was a new trend observed by the State Board since 2015 so that the students don’t miss out on an academic year. It was also decided that students will be provided counselling if they don’t clear the second attempt as well in the same year.

Further details regarding filling application forms for re-examination will be updated by MSBSHSE on their website soon, informed officials.
