Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has officially denied reports of an alleged leak of the SSC (Class 10) Marathi first language exam paper.
The Board clarified that the claims, which surfaced on certain news channels, were based on pages from a private publication rather than the actual question paper. Investigations have also revealed that certain questions from the paper were deliberately shared on social media to facilitate malpractice.
The SSC board exams began recently, and on Friday morning, students appeared for their first language papers. Reports aired on news channels suggested that the Marathi paper had been leaked at Zilla Parishad High School, Badnapur, Jalna district (Exam Center No. 3050).
Additionally, similar claims emerged from Mahagaon and Kothari exam centers in Yavatmal district, where the paper was allegedly circulated via mobile phones.
Following these reports, a team visited the Badnapur exam center for verification. Officials reviewed the alleged leaked pages and compared them with the official question paper. Their findings confirmed that the pages in question were not part of the official exam but were instead taken from a privately published study material.
Further investigation revealed that some handwritten notes containing certain exam questions and answers had also been shared. The Board concluded that while there was no paper leak, an attempt was made to spread exam-related content on social media for dishonest purposes. The district administration has been instructed to conduct a detailed inquiry and take strict action against those responsible.
Similarly, at Mahagaon and Kothari exam centers in Yavatmal, a detailed report was submitted to the State Board, confirming that no leak had occurred. However, the question paper was circulated online in an attempt to aid cheating. Authorities have been directed to file criminal cases against individuals involved in the misconduct.
In another incident at Zilla Parishad School, Talni, Mantha taluka, Jalna district (Exam Center No. 3436), a large crowd of parents gathered outside the examination center before the test began. With police intervention, they were removed, and the Board confirmed that no irregularities took place during the exam.
