A large blaze erupted at a plastic manufacturing facility in Delhi's Inderlok Industrial region on Monday. A total of 23 fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and the situation was brought under control by 2:30 PM.
The Delhi Fire Services reported that there have been no casualties so far, and the cooling operation is still in progress in the area.
According to an official from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), fire engines were dispatched to the location following a report of the fire received at 11:37 am, as reported by news agency PTI.
The operation is ongoing. Additional vehicles will be deployed if necessary, according to the official.
People living close to the location reported that smoke from the blaze could be seen from afar, raising alarm among nearby residents. According to a DFS official, the reason for the fire has not yet been determined.
Earlier today, a fire erupted at a shuttered factory in the Khushkhera industrial zone of Rajasthan's Alwar district, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals.
Preliminary reports indicated that the factory had been closed for several months, and a significant amount of cardboard was discovered in storage.
At approximately 10 am, smoke was observed emanating from within the factory, and shortly thereafter, the fire escalated into a significant inferno. Witnesses reported hearing three to four loud explosions, which incited panic. It is believed that gas cylinders stored inside the factory may have detonated, leading to the explosions. The precise origin of the fire remains undetermined.
