Pune: A district court in Pune has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Hrithik Landge, who allegedly disrupted a rally addressed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and abused a female constable deployed for security.

The incident occurred during a public meeting held on November 17 at Gavjatra Ground in Bhosari, organized as part of the election campaign for BJP candidate Mahesh Landge. The rally drew a large crowd, and security arrangements included barricades around the stage area.

According to the complaint filed by the female police constable at the Bhosari police station, Hrithik Landge crossed the barricades and attempted to approach the stage. When the constable stopped him, he allegedly misbehaved, made offensive remarks, and verbally abused her.

Seeking anticipatory bail, Landge moved an application in the Shivajinagar court, where Additional Sessions Judge S.R. Pahade heard the case.

Opposing the bail plea, Public Prosecutor Pramod Bombatkar argued that the accused exhibited obscene and indecent behavior in a public gathering, which could have jeopardized the safety of the dignitary.

Bombatkar further stated that the accused’s actions required investigation to determine his intent, especially concerning the potential risk to the Chief Minister’s security.

Accepting the public prosecutor’s arguments, the court denied the anticipatory bail plea, citing the seriousness of the offense and the need for further inquiry.
