Pune: Kasba Peth MLA Hemant Rasane has raised concerns about growing issues in Pune’s bustling Tulshibaug and Chhatrapati Shivaji Road areas. These include complaints of sex workers from Budhwar Peth loitering in the marketplace areas near Shrimant Dagdusheth Ganpati and Mandai areas.

The MLA recently met Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, urging immediate action. According to Rasane, sex workers from Budhwar Peth have been spotted standing in busy public areas like Tulshibaug, Mandai, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Road. Residents, especially women, have reported feeling unsafe due to their presence.

“This behavior is unlawful, as they are leaving their designated area and entering residential and commercial zones. We demand that the police take the necessary steps to address this issue,” Rasane said.

In addition to this, Rasane highlighted disturbances caused by students in areas like Sadashiv Peth, Shaniwar Peth, and Narayan Peth, which house numerous study centers for competitive exams. Students from across the state often gather in these areas, and their celebrations, including exam results or birthdays, occasionally lead to noisy disruptions. Local residents have complained about these disturbances.

Rasane has requested the police to ensure peace in the area by educating the concerned individuals and taking steps to maintain order.
