Nagar Road: Drunken BMW Driver’s Public Obscenity on Women’s Day Sparks Anger in Pune

Pune: In a shocking and disturbing incident, an intoxicated youth engaged in obscene behavior in the middle of the street at Shastrinagar Chowk, Pune. The act, which occurred on International Women’s Day, has raised fresh concerns over women's safety in public spaces.

The accused, traveling in a BMW car with a friend, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. He suddenly stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road, got out, and urinated in front of women standing nearby. The public was left in shock, with some bystanders attempting to intervene.

Drunken Driving Posed a Threat to Public Safety

Eyewitnesses reported that both the accused and his companion were heavily intoxicated and were recklessly driving the BMW at high speed. Their negligence could have caused a serious accident. When citizens attempted to stop them, they ignored the warnings and sped away.

Entire Incident Captured on Camera, Police Begin Investigation

The entire incident was recorded on mobile cameras, and several citizens alerted the Yerawada Police. Law enforcement officials have begun tracking the BMW’s registration number and are also analyzing CCTV footage to identify the accused.

Public Outrage Over Women’s Safety

This shocking act, occurring on International Women's Day, has sparked widespread anger. Many citizens have criticized the lack of immediate action from authorities and emphasized the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents.

One local resident expressed frustration:

"Such incidents are happening frequently, yet the police fail to act promptly. Women should feel safe in public spaces, but acts like these make us question our security."

Police Assure Strict Action Against Accused

A complaint has been registered at the Yerawada Police Station. Responding to the incident, Pune Police issued a statement: "The accused are being identified using CCTV footage, and strict action will be taken. Public obscenity will not be tolerated, and those responsible will face legal consequences."
