The couple held a reception almost 11 months after their discreet wedding in January, which had initially caught fans off guard. Modi didn’t make a token appearance either, he spent time with the family, exchanged warm conversations and shared smiles, adding weight to an already star-studded evening that featured top athletes and political leaders.

Clad in sophisticated traditional clothing, Neeraj appeared every inch the humble national icon. What started as an intimate family gathering swiftly turned into an online sensation, with images from the event flooding the social media feeds and fan pages nationwide.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi hosted Neeraj and Himani at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, where they discussed sports, life, and future plans. Modi later posted on X: “Met Neeraj Chopra and his wife, Himani Mor… We had a great interaction on various issues, including sports of course!”

Neeraj Chopra, India’s first Olympic gold medalist in athletics, announced his marriage in January with a simple Instagram post: “Starting a new chapter of life with my family. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together.”

Himani Mor, a 25-year-old tennis player from Sonipat, holds a Master’s in Sports Management, represented India at the 2017 World University Games, and won gold at the 2016 World Junior Tennis Championship.
