Sanctioned by the Ministry of Defence in March 2021 with a budget of ₹112.82 crore, the project was executed by the Military Engineer Services. Construction began in November 2021 and was completed within the planned timeline, reflecting efficient execution and coordination.

The hospital was developed in close collaboration with the Army Medical Services to ensure it meets modern medical standards and operational needs.

The facility is equipped with advanced treatment systems and designed to provide patient-friendly care for serving personnel and their families across Tezpur and nearby military stations in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and difficult terrain and weather conditions in the Northeast, the project was delivered on time without exceeding its budget. This highlights strong project management and disciplined planning.

The new hospital also incorporates eco-friendly features in line with green building practices. As one of the largest military hospitals in the region, it is expected to significantly improve medical support for troops deployed in the Eastern Theatre.

Recognizing its strategic importance and construction quality, the project has been nominated for the CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2026, marking it as a key infrastructure achievement for the Indian Army.
