India will permit airlines from the United Kingdom from January 8. Now in the new guidelines issued by the central government checking of the passengers coming from UK is mandatory at all airports along with RT-PCR test.
The health ministry has declared a detailed guideline meant for the passengers, airlines and the state governments.
-Passengers will have to carry their negative report of the RT-PCR test, which should have been cobducted before 72 hours.
- All passengers travelling from the UK will have to give self-declaration form on the online portal of Delhi Airport.
-The copy of the report will have to be uploaded on the portal as well.
-Passengers bearing all expenses will have to undergo RT-PCR tests again upon arrival.
-If passengers test positive, he or she will be quarantined. positive upon arrival, passengers will have to be quarantined.
-Co-passengers and other contacts will also have to be quarantined if one tests positive.
-The state governments will earmark facilities for isolation and take necessary action to send the positive samples to Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) Labs.
-If the passengers test positive for the new strain, they will remain at the isolation facility. If they test positive for the current SARS-COV-2 genome, then they may be allowed home isolation. They will be tested after 14 days again
