Meghalaya, in Sanskrit, means 'the abode of clouds'. Meghalaya is one among the Seven Sister States of northeast India.

The land of meadows, breathtaking waterfalls, crystal clear rivers, the virgin forests, the hills and the abundance of rain, makes the region a paradise on earth. 

The town of Cherrapunji holds the record of most rain in a calendar month. The wettest region on earth, Meghalaya does suffer from water shortage from time to time. 

Despite the severe conditions of heavy winds, droughts, landslides and major impacts of climate change, Meghalaya is still surviving to be one of the most beautiful places in India.
