Pune: Noble Hospital and Research Centre has achieved a major milestone by becoming the first hospital in Maharashtra to install the advanced SSI Mantra 3 Robotic System. The groundbreaking technology is designed to enhance surgical precision and improve patient outcomes.

The system was inaugurated by acclaimed Marathi actor Prasad Oak, alongside dignitaries including Dr. Dileep Mane, Chairman and Managing Director of Noble Hospitals, Satish Magar, Chairman of Magarpatta Township Development, and senior doctors from Noble Hospitals.

Equipped with five robotic arms, immersive 3D HD optics, and 3D 4K imaging capabilities, the SSI Mantra 3 offers unparalleled precision and control in surgical procedures. It is set to revolutionize surgeries across specialties, including general, cardiothoracic, urology, gynecology, and other complex procedures.

Dr. Ashish Pokharkar, Oncosurgeon at Noble Hospitals, highlighted the benefits of the new system, stating, “This is a transformative step in surgical technology. With minimally invasive fingertip-sized incisions and enhanced instrument movement, patient recovery is faster, hospital stays are shorter, and discomfort is minimized.”

In its first use, the robotic system was employed for a life-saving procedure on a 34-year-old female dentist diagnosed with right-side colon cancer and a 10 cm tumor. The surgery, a robotic right extended hemicolectomy, showcased the precision and efficiency of the new technology.

According to Dr. Pokharkar, the system’s ergonomic design and magnified 3D imaging ensured a smooth and successful operation, with the patient recovering swiftly and being discharged on the fourth day.

Dr. Dileep Mane remarked, “This robotic system symbolizes our commitment to embracing innovation and providing the best possible outcomes for our patients. It is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence in healthcare.”

This latest achievement follows a series of milestones by Noble Hospitals, including being the first hospital in Pune to receive the prestigious J.C.I.-Golden Seal and establishing a Human Milk Bank. “We aim to keep advancing patient care with cutting-edge technology in the hands of our skilled doctors,” added Dr. Divij Mane, Director of Noble Hospitals.
