Pune: Nullcon, Asia's premier hacking and cybersecurity conference, has announced a strategic investment from the US-based Information Security Media Group (ISMG), granting ISMG a majority stake in its parent company, Payatu Technologies.
This collaboration aims to amplify Nullcon’s global presence, strengthen community engagement, and foster deeper industry partnerships.
Since its inception in 2010 by Antriksh Shah, Aseem Jakhar, and Murtuja Bharmal, Nullcon has established itself as a leading platform for innovation in information security, hosting annual conferences in Goa, India, and Germany.
Drawing over 3,000 attendees and 400 companies annually, the conference showcases cutting-edge research, live bug bounties, and immersive hacking demonstrations.
ISMG CEO Sanjay Kalra emphasized Nullcon’s vital role in the cybersecurity ecosystem, stating, “Nullcon has created an authoritative and highly engaging community of cybersecurity researchers. This partnership aligns with ISMG’s mission to advance global cybersecurity through media, training, and research.”
The investment will enable Nullcon to leverage ISMG’s expansive global network, providing researchers with enhanced visibility for their work and offering sponsors and attendees new opportunities to connect with senior industry executives.
Nullcon has been instrumental in pioneering research, including projects addressing telecom encryption vulnerabilities and electronic voting machine security.
With its highly engaged audience—70% of whom are hands-on professionals—Nullcon provides specialized training for over 800 professionals annually, equipping them to protect critical infrastructure globally.
Co-founder Antriksh Shah expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “This collaboration with ISMG allows us to elevate Nullcon’s grassroots community to the global stage, bringing greater visibility to researchers, sponsors, and attendees.
Together, we will bridge the gap between technical innovation and strategic business decisions in cybersecurity.”
Echoing this sentiment, co-founder Aseem Jakhar remarked, “With ISMG’s investment, we are turbocharging our mission to drive growth, innovation, and collaboration.
Our goal is to make cybersecurity accessible and actionable, shaping the narrative from technical discussions to strategic decision-making at the boardroom level.”
Nullcon’s core team consists of six members, including three with under three years of experience, showcasing its commitment to fresh talent.
Supported by a diverse audience of professionals and decision-makers, the conference continues to set benchmarks for cybersecurity research, training, and networking in Asia and beyond.
