Pune: In a shocking incident at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCM) in Pimpri, a living newborn was declared dead and issued a death certificate. This incident occurred on July 23 at 5:20 PM.

A woman gave birth to a newborn at YCM Hospital. The doctors declared the newborn dead and issued a death certificate within minutes.

However, it was later documented that the newborn was alive and receiving treatment in the ICU. This negligence has led to calls for action against the responsible doctors.

On one hand, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's medical department has made significant achievements, receiving praise from Commissioner Shekhar Singh.

On the other hand, such egregious mistakes cannot be ignored. Citizens are demanding strict action against the involved doctors. Commissioner Singh is urged to take notice and act decisively.

The issuance of a death certificate for a living newborn has caused public outrage. Questions are being raised about how doctors could declare the newborn dead before it even had a chance to see the world.

Efforts to contact YCM Hospital's dean, Rajendra Wable, were unsuccessful. Health officer Gofane promised to look into the matter, but this response is seen as insufficient.

It is clear that neither YCM Hospital nor the municipal health department is taking the issue seriously. Citizens are demanding that Commissioner Shekhar Singh take strict action.

On July 23, 2024, a woman gave birth at 5:20 PM. The documents state that the baby was stillborn. However, by 7:37 PM, a death certificate had been issued for the baby. By 8:56 PM, the baby was receiving treatment in the ICU.
