PCMC Employee’s Son Becomes Army Lieutenant, Honored by Commissioner Shekhar Singh

Shivraj joined the Cadets Training Wing at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering in Secunderabad, where he pursued B.Tech degree in Electronics Engineering.

Pune: In a proud moment for Pimpri-Chinchwad, Shivraj More, son of Sanjeevani More, a draftsman in the water supply department of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has been appointed as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army.

Shivraj, aged 22, met PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh before assuming his new role, where he was felicitated for his achievement. The event highlighted the growing contributions of children of municipal employees to diverse fields like education, research, and sports, bringing laurels to the city.

At the felicitation ceremony, Commissioner Shekhar Singh lauded Shivraj’s accomplishment, stating, “It is a matter of immense pride to see the children of our employees excel and bring recognition to our city.” The ceremony was attended by Public Relations Officer Praful Puranik, stenographer Palaskar, Deputy Accountant Geeta Dhangekar, and other officials.

Shivraj’s journey to becoming a Lieutenant is a testament to his hard work and dedication. A resident of New Sangvi, he passed the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) examination in Bangalore on his first attempt after completing his higher secondary education. He underwent initial training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya, Bihar, completing the first phase of basic military training.

For the second phase, Shivraj joined the Cadets Training Wing at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad, where he pursued a B.Tech degree in Electronics Engineering. During his training, Shivraj earned multiple awards, including gold medals, for his exceptional performance. He was conferred the rank of Lieutenant in a ceremony graced by the presence of the Army Chief.
