Pune: A young woman from Paithan taluka, who is pursuing air hostess training in Pimpri-Chinchwad, has reported being blackmailed and sexually assaulted by an acquaintance.

The accused threatened to harm himself and use an obscene video to intimidate her into submission. The case, initially registered in Paithan Police Station, has now been transferred to Pimpri-Chinchwad Police for further investigation.

The suspect, Vijay Abasaheb Shinde (resident of Prabhat Colony, Wakad, Pune), allegedly used his familiarity with the victim to manipulate her. The victim, who resides in Kalbhor Nagar while attending her second year of air hostess training, met Shinde at a local mall.

The accused later took her to a hotel in Dange Chowk, where he threatened her by claiming he would harm himself if she did not agree to a physical relationship. To heighten the intimidation, Shinde reportedly injured himself with a blade, causing the frightened victim to comply.

The victim reported that the abuse continued for over a month and a half. Shinde allegedly made repeated demands for physical relations, threatening to expose an obscene video to her parents if she refused.

Upon returning to her village, the woman disclosed the traumatic incidents to her family, who encouraged her to file a police complaint. Paithan Police Inspector Sanjay Deshmukh confirmed that a case has been registered against Shinde, and it has been forwarded to the jurisdiction of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police for further action.
