Pune: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh to take strict action against unauthorized advertisement hoardings using artificial intelligence-based monitoring.
Emphasizing fair enforcement, Fadnavis instructed that even if his own advertisement appears on an illegal hoarding, it should be removed first to ensure that no hindrances arise in removing others.
Fadnavis acknowledged that political party workers and officials often install unauthorized hoardings, but artificial intelligence technology now allows for effective monitoring and removal. He insisted that advertisements should only be placed in designated areas to maintain order and compliance.
Apart from addressing hoarding regulations, Fadnavis reviewed various developmental projects under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). He praised PCMC’s initiatives for enhancing public services and governance.
He highlighted the City Hub for Data and Communication (CHDC) as a key project that would improve administrative transparency and ensure a more citizen-friendly governance system.
Discussing the land allocated to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, Fadnavis assured that a meeting with municipal authorities would be convened soon to decide on its optimal use. He emphasized that any development on the land should align with modern urban infrastructure to benefit the city’s growth.
Addressing concerns about fire safety, Fadnavis referred to the California wildfires, where delays in fire brigade response led to severe challenges. He stressed that fire preparedness should not be seasonal but maintained year-round.
To strengthen the city's fire safety infrastructure, he directed the authorities to preserve all fire station reservations without any alterations. His directive highlights the critical role of well-equipped fire stations in protecting urban areas from fire-related emergencies.
