Pune: Valmik Karad, a key accused in the Beed extortion case, has been found to own a luxurious flat in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The flat, located in the Park Street area of Wakad, is worth crores and registered in the name of Valmik Karad and his wife. This sixth-floor property, numbered 601, has come under scrutiny after a property tax notice was pasted on its door by the tax collection department for overdue taxes amounting to ₹1 lakh.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is now awaiting Karad’s action regarding the pending dues. If the arrears remain unpaid, further steps by the civic body could escalate.

MCOCA Case Registered Against Karad

On Tuesday (January 14), a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) was filed against Valmik Karad in connection with the conspiracy to murder Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village.

Following the registration of this case, protests have intensified in Parli. Karad’s supporters called for a complete shutdown and have staged a sit-in protest outside the Beed City Police Station. Among the protesters are Karad’s 75-year-old mother and his wife, adding to the agitation.

Discovery of Another Flat in Pimpri

As the municipal corporation moves forward with the process to seal Karad’s luxurious flat in Wakad, another property owned by him has surfaced.

The flat, registered in the name of his wife, Manjiri Valmik Karad, is located in the Mi Casa Bella Society on Pink City Road. Flat number 403 has been under Manjali Karad’s name since April 1, 2016, as per records from the municipal tax collection department. The market value of this flat is estimated at ₹1 crore.
