Water supply to be cut on Thursday (Sept 18) in large parts of western and southern Pune for scheduled maintenance.
Low-pressure supply on Friday (Sept 19) as pumping operations gradually restart.

Pune, 17 September 2025: A major maintenance drive at the old Parvati water treatment plant and its associated pumping stations will disrupt water supply across western and southern parts of Pune on Thursday, September 18, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced.
According to the PMC water supply department, essential electrical and pumping system repairs will be undertaken at the Vadgaon, Rajiv Gandhi, Warje and Holkar pumping stations. This work will require a day-long shutdown of water supply to several residential and commercial areas. Officials said supply will resume on Friday, September 19, but only by late morning and at low pressure until operations stabilize.
The affected network includes large sections of Kothrud, Baner, Pashan, Shivajinagar, Karvenagar, Warje, Vadgaon, Dhayari, Parvati, Sahakarnagar, Bibvewadi, Katraj, Ambegaon, Bavdhan, and parts of Khadki. Areas drawing water from the Parvati high-level reservoir and related storage tanks will experience the cut.
PMC water supply head Nandkishor Jagtap said the planned work is necessary to ensure smooth operations at the Parvati treatment plant and connected pumping facilities. He urged citizens in the affected areas to store enough water in advance and use it judiciously until supply normalizes on Friday.
The civic body has advised residents to plan for the disruption and expect low-pressure water flow even after supply resumes.
