Pune city and suburbs have many complaints including water supply disruption, low pressure water and contaminated water. But citizens wonder where to complain.

Finally, as per the court order, the PMC has created an e-mail ID waterpil126@punecorporation.org for complaints of water supply in Pune city and villages under Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA).

Nandkishor Jagtap, chief engineer of the water supply department, has appealed to the citizens to lodge complaints.

A public interest litigation (PIL) had been filed in the High Court by the Wagholi Housing Society Association and some other organisations regarding the lack of adequate water supply from the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) and the PMC.

The petition had alleged that due to non-availability of adequate water from the local body, they had to order tankers and buy water.

During the hearing, the court appointed a committee headed by divisional commissioners of Pune and Pimpri municipal corporations, chief engineer of water supply department and secretary of district legal services authority.

In the meeting of the committee, it was decided that e-mail ID should be made available to citizens to report their problems related to water issues.
