Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced free bus services for attendees of the Koregaon Bhima Victory Pillar tribute event.
These services will run from Tuesday (December 31) at 4 PM until midnight on Wednesday (January 1), covering several routes from Lonikand and Shikrapur divisions. This initiative aims to ensure hassle-free travel for the large number of devotees expected at the event.
The Koregaon Bhima Victory Pillar tribute event, held annually at the start of the new year, attracts thousands of attendees from across Maharashtra and the country. To accommodate the growing number of visitors, PMPML has consistently organized free bus services. This year, as in the past, attendees can avail themselves of these services.
Route Details:
From Lonikand Division:
Tuesday, 4 PM to Wednesday, 4 AM: 75 buses will operate along routes including Tulapur Phata, Lonikand Wrestling Ground, Khandoba Mal, Chinchvan, Phulgaon School, and Perne village.
Wednesday, 4 AM to Midnight: 250 buses will continue to serve the same routes.
From Shikrapur Division:
Tuesday, 7 AM to Wednesday Midnight: 140 buses will run on routes covering Shikrapur Road, Jeet Parking Wakf Board, and Pimple Jagtap Chakan Road to Koregaon Bhima Victory Pillar.
A separate route with 10 buses will run from Wadhu Parking Inamdar Hospital to Wadhu.
Wednesday, 4 AM to Midnight: 350 buses will operate on these routes.
Special Bus Allocation for Major Stations:
PMP has allocated 75 additional buses to operate from key locations in Pune, as detailed below:
Pune Railway Station (Moledina Bus Stand): A total of 31 buses will be deployed.
PMC Building Bus Stand: 33 buses will be assigned to this station.
Dapodi Mantri Niketan: 2 buses will be available at this location.
Dhole Patil Road PMC School: 2 buses will be allocated for service here.
Upper Depot Bus Stand: 4 buses will be stationed at this stand.
Pimpri Ambedkar Chowk: 3 buses will operate from this station.
