Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): On Monday, a video went viral on social media showing Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi giving a ₹10 bottle of water to a woman as villagers voiced grievances about shortages of electricity and water.
In the widely circulated video, MLA Pritam Lodhi is seen speaking with villagers and promising that their issues will be addressed shortly.
During the exchange, he can also be heard asking, "If you don’t vote for me, then who will you vote for?" This remark triggered a separate debate on social media.

A woman in the crowd, carrying her child, is also seen voicing concerns about drinking water. In reply, the MLA took a ₹10 bottle of water from his vehicle and gave it to her.
The incident was recorded on video, and voices of some bystanders commenting on what happened can be heard.
According to reports, residents of villages in Shivpuri district have long been struggling with shortages of both electricity and water. Irked by this, they surrounded the MLA’s car as soon as they spotted him in a village under the Pichhore Assembly constituency.
Villagers, including women, assembled and voiced concerns about recurring power outages and a lack of drinking water, stating that these problems had been disrupting their daily lives for several days.
They further informed the MLA that the village transformer had been non-functional for almost two months, causing interruptions in the power supply. The MLA assured them that he would take up the matter with the relevant officials and ensure that the problem is resolved.
Pritam Lodhi stated that he frequently visits villages in his constituency and that resolving public issues is his top priority. He assured that the problems related to electricity and water will be resolved at the earliest.
The footage of the encounter is still spreading extensively across social media, as residents wait to see how swiftly the pledged measures will be put into effect.
