The victim, identified as Jagnnath Kashinath Kale, was reportedly riding his two-wheeler when he encountered a pothole between the tar road and paving blocks. The sudden dip caused him to lose balance and fall onto the road. In a matter of seconds, a car approaching from behind ran him over.

This horrifying accident occurred in broad daylight and was caught on CCTV. The footage clearly shows how a neglected road defect turned deadly.

The incident has sparked public outrage and raised a pressing question: Who is responsible for such preventable deaths on Pune's roads? Citizens and local activists have once again demanded immediate action from municipal authorities to fix hazardous roads and ensure commuter safety.

Despite repeated complaints and numerous such incidents, the city continues to suffer from poorly maintained roads, especially during monsoon, when potholes worsen and increase the risk of fatal accidents.
