Pune: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Crime Branch seized 28 kg of ganja worth ₹17 lakh during a raid in the Mundhwa-Koregaon Park area. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
Tip-Off Leads to Police Raid
The Anti-Narcotics Cell-2 received intelligence that a large quantity of ganja was hidden in an open plot near Mundhwa-Koregaon Park Road. Acting on this information, a police team swiftly conducted a raid at the location.
During the operation, the police arrested Pramod Sudhakar Kamble (44) from Solapur and Vishal Datta Parkhe (41) from Pune. A total of 28 kg of ganja, valued at ₹16.80 lakh, was seized from their possession. Other materials were also confiscated as evidence. The accused were taken into custody, and a case was registered against them at the Mundhwa Police Station.
Operation Led by Senior Officers
The raid was carried out under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik.
The operation was executed by Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, Assistant Police Inspector Nitinkumar Naik, and a team of police constables including Azad Patil, Mayur Suryawanshi, Sandeep Jadhav, Sandeep Shelke, Yogesh Mandhare, Yuvraj Kamble, Chetan Gaikwad, Ravindra Rokde, Dinesh Bastewad, and Disha Khewalkar.
