Pune: Birthday Party Ends in Tragedy, Swift Car Crashes into Bus, Two Dead, Four Injured

A bus was parked near Wadgaon bridge on the bypass highway when a Swift car carrying six young men crashed into it from behind. The car occupants were returning from a birthday celebration.

Pune: A devastating road accident on the Katraj-Dehuroad bypass near Wadgaon bridge claimed the lives of two young men and left four others injured early this morning (January 25). The accident, which occurred at around 5 a.m., has shocked the local community.

According to initial reports, a bus was parked near the Wadgaon bridge on the bypass highway when a Swift car carrying six young men crashed into it from behind. The car occupants were returning from a birthday celebration when the accident occurred.

The collision was so severe that two of the car’s occupants lost their lives instantly, while the other four sustained serious injuries. The deceased have been sent for post-mortem, and the injured were first admitted to Navale Hospital before being shifted to a private hospital for advanced care.

Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident and have informed the families of the victims. The names of the injured are as follows:

  • Soham Khale (19)

  • Ayush Kate (20)

  • Atharva Zedge (19)

  • Pratik Bandgar (19)

  • Harsh Ware (19)

The police are working to determine the exact cause of the accident and have appealed to drivers to exercise caution, especially in the early hours when visibility may be reduced.

The tragic accident has raised concerns about road safety in the city, as accidents on Pune’s highways and roads continue to increase. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the risks associated with late-night driving and speeding.
