Pune Camp: Cafe Peter Delivery Boy Steals Cash, Enjoys Luxury Trips Before Being Arrested

The accused, identified as Angad Rajendra Kadam (24), a resident of Poladpur in Raigad district, had been working at Cafe Peter for the past two years.

Pune: A delivery boy working at Cafe Peter on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Camp, Pune, stole ₹95,000 from the shop's locker and went on a spree of luxury trips before being apprehended by the police.

The accused, identified as Angad Rajendra Kadam (24), a resident of Poladpur in Raigad district, had been working at Cafe Peter for the past two years. According to the complaint filed by the shop owner, Amol Ramchandra Pawar, Kadam committed the theft on the night of December 26.

While all employees were asleep, Kadam entered the shop around 1:30 a.m., accessed the locker at the counter, and stole ₹95,000 in cash. After the theft, Kadam used the stolen money to visit popular tourist destinations like Mahabaleshwar, Mahad, and Nashik, indulging in leisure activities. He later traveled to Sambhajinagar.

Based on technical intelligence gathered by officers and staff from the Cantonment Police Station, Kadam was traced to Harsul, Sambhajinagar. A police team immediately acted on the information and arrested him.

The operation was led under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Smarthana Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Deepak Nikam, and Senior Police Inspector Girishkumar Dighavkar.

The investigating team included Sub-Inspector Rahul Ghadge and constables Mahesh Kadam, Somnath Bansode, Sandeep Ukirde, Sachin Manjare, Pravin Gaikwad, Lokesh Kadam, Sangar Haral, and Alka Bramhe.
