District Collector Jitendra Dudi confirmed that landowners covering about 1,450 acres of the revised 3,000-acre project have submitted consent letters. Officials said over 1,000 farmers from the seven identified villages have given their approval at the Pune collector’s office and the Saswad sub-divisional office.

The project, which had earlier faced strong resistance, especially from Pargaon village, appears to be moving forward with smoother participation this time.

To encourage cooperation, the administration has offered a compensation package that includes monetary payment and the return of 10% of the acquired land in the form of developed plots within the upcoming Aerocity next to the airport.

The consent process will remain open until September 18, giving more farmers time to come forward.
