Pune: A devastating accident occurred in Hinjewadi Phase 1 this morning, where a tempo traveler carrying 12 employees of Vyoma Graphics Company suddenly caught fire. The incident resulted in the tragic deaths of four employees, who were burnt alive after being trapped inside.

Two other employees sustained critical injuries, while the remaining passengers were rescued and are receiving medical treatment at a private hospital.

How the Incident Occurred

At approximately 8:00 AM, the tempo traveler was en route to Hinjewadi Phase 1 when a fire unexpectedly broke out beneath the driver’s seat. Upon realizing the fire, the driver and a front-seat passenger managed to escape in time. However, the rear door failed to open, leaving four employees seated at the back trapped inside the burning vehicle. As a result, they were unable to escape and succumbed to the fire.

Medical Assistance for the Injured

Several other employees sustained injuries in the accident and were immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment. According to doctors, their condition is currently stable, though two victims remain in critical condition.

Police Investigation and Initial Findings

The Hinjewadi Police arrived at the accident site and have launched an investigation. Preliminary reports suggest that a technical malfunction in the vehicle’s engine may have triggered the fire.

Authorities are also examining whether a defect in the rear door mechanism prevented the trapped employees from escaping.
