Pune, 27 August 2025: On the festive occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Pune Metro achieved a major milestone by extending its trial operations on the Maan–Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar route. For the first time, the metro ran beyond Hinjawadi, covering the stretch from Maan Depot to the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex station at Mhalunge-Balewadi.
Earlier, all trial runs were limited to the Maan–Hinjawadi section. Today’s successful run marked a significant step forward as the metro entered areas outside the IT hub, strengthening hopes for faster progress on this crucial corridor.
Officials, engineers, and technicians of Pune Metro closely monitored the trial to ensure smooth functioning. The achievement is expected to speed up preparations for launching metro services, which will provide a faster and more reliable commuting option to thousands of IT professionals and daily passengers traveling in and out of Hinjawadi.
