Pune News: Fire at Asha Hotel in Pune’s Dattawadi, One Injured

Fire at Asha Hotel Sparks Panic, One Injured in Dattawadi Blaze; Gas Leak Suspected in Hotel Fire, Investigation Underway

PUNE, 16 August 2025: A fire broke out at the well-known Asha Hotel in Pune’s Dattawadi area on Saturday morning, causing panic among locals and customers.

According to officials, the blaze started around 8 a.m., most likely due to a gas leak or short circuit in the hotel’s kitchen. Within minutes, thick smoke was seen billowing out, creating chaos in the area.

The fire brigade was immediately called, and three fire tenders rushed to the spot. After continuous efforts, firefighters managed to bring the situation under control before it spread further.

One hotel employee sustained severe injuries in the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. While no other casualties were reported, the kitchen and its equipment were extensively damaged.

Police and fire officials are investigating the exact cause of the fire. CCTV footage from the premises is also being examined. Meanwhile, the incident has left residents and shopkeepers in the area shaken.
