Pune, 29 July 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised the Indian Army’s recent success in eliminating terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir through Operation Mahadev, describing the action as a strong response to the Pahalgam attack. He stated that the nation's long-standing anger over the killing of innocent people has finally found closure.
Shinde was speaking to the media in Pune after visiting the family of Dr. Deepak Tilak, following the latter’s demise. During the interaction, he touched upon the recent developments in Kashmir.
Referring to the Pahalgam attack, Shinde said the incident where women lost their loved ones had left the nation deeply pained. "People had a desire to see the terrorists brought to justice, and through Operation Mahadev, that has been fulfilled. The Indian Army's response deserves high appreciation," he remarked.
He further stated that India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has shown that it will not tolerate cross-border terrorism. "Be it Operation Sindhur or Operation Mahadev, our forces have given a befitting reply. Terrorists responsible for attacks in Pahalgam have been neutralized. PM Modi had assured that no enemy of the country will be spared, and today, we’ve seen that resolve in action," Shinde said.
Later, Shinde expressed condolences over the passing of Dr. Deepak Tilak, former editor of Kesari and a respected figure in journalism. "His death is a great loss to the field. He preserved the legacy of Kesari and the values of the Tilak family. That tradition is being carried forward today," Shinde noted.
