Pune News: SPPU Selects 86 Assistant Professors for 2025–26 Academic Year

Out of 133 contractual posts announced across various departments, the university finalised 86 appointments after interviews and merit evaluation.

Pune, 9th August 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University has announced the selection of 86 candidates for assistant professor positions on a contractual basis for the 2025–26 academic year.

Earlier, the university had issued a circular on June 18, 2025, inviting applications for 133 such posts across different academic departments. Interviews were conducted between July 17 and 21. Candidates were assessed on a 100-mark scale, with 80 marks allotted for academic qualifications, research, and teaching experience, and 20 marks for the interview.

The final merit and selection lists were prepared based on the combined scores. These lists have been published on the university’s official website. The selection is subject to verification of the information and documents submitted during the online application process.

According to the university’s Public Relations Department, appointment letters will be issued to the selected candidates through their respective departments once document verification is complete.
