Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has initiated the second phase of its affordable housing project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for economically weaker sections (EWS). After successfully constructing and allotting 2,918 houses in the first phase, the civic body plans to build 4,060 additional homes in Baner, Kondhwa, Dhanori, and Hadapsar at prices below market rates. The total project cost is estimated at ₹300 crore.
PMC had earlier completed projects in Wadgaon Budruk, Kharadi, and Hadapsar, offering 2,918 flats that were distributed through a lottery system. The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022.
