Pune, 9th June 2025: Pune Police have taken to social media platform ‘X’ to raise awareness about the importance of following both traffic regulations and cyber security norms. In a creative twist, they posted a video with a catchy poem, driving home a serious message with a touch of humor.
The post reads:
“Pretty little baby speeding down the lane…
You forgot your helmet again? That’s insane!
And clicking on random links just for fun?
That’s how your data comes undone.
Traffic or tech rules exist for a reason.
Let’s not act like babies when it comes to safety.”
With this message, Pune Police are encouraging citizens to take both road safety and online security seriously.
Their campaign gains relevance in light of alarming statistics recently shared in the state assembly by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He revealed that Pune alone suffered cyber fraud losses worth ₹6,007 crore in 2024 nearly five times more than the combined losses of Mumbai, Nagpur, and Thane, which totaled ₹1,125 crore.
Road safety is equally concerning. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, stated that over 30,000 people in India lost their lives in accidents caused by not wearing a helmet.
In response to these worrying trends, Pune Police are leveraging social media to spread awareness and urge citizens to follow essential safety rules — whether on the road or online.
