Pune: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has announced the establishment of a help desk to assist vehicle owners in installing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
This initiative aims to resolve issues faced by vehicle owners, such as technical difficulties in online registration and other grievances related to the process.
The Transport Department has made it mandatory for all vehicles manufactured up to 2018 to have High-Security Registration Plates installed. To facilitate this, 69 centers have been set up across Pune.
Despite this, many vehicle owners are struggling with the online registration process required to obtain these plates. The technical challenges have led to a slowdown in the pace of HSRP installation.
To address these concerns, the Pune RTO has decided to set up a dedicated help desk within its office premises. The desk, expected to be operational by the second week of February, will guide vehicle owners through the registration and installation process, providing much-needed relief.
Speaking about the initiative, Swapnil Bhosale, Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Pune, said, "We have decided to establish a help desk at the RTO office for the convenience of vehicle owners. It is essential for them to replace their plates within the given time frame. The help desk will be operational by mid-February to assist with the process."
