The incident took place late Sunday evening at a lavish wedding venue in Pune district. According to eyewitnesses, the atmosphere was festive until a heated argument broke out between the Shiv Sena district chief and his nephew and niece. The disagreement, reportedly over a long-standing family property dispute, quickly escalated.

The district chief allegedly drew a licensed pistol and pointed it at his relatives, issuing verbal threats in front of stunned family members and guests. The sudden escalation caused chaos, with several guests fleeing the scene and the wedding festivities coming to an abrupt halt.

Sources close to the family revealed that the dispute centered around the division of ancestral property. Tensions had been simmering for months, and the wedding brought together family members who had not spoken in years. The argument reportedly began over seating arrangements and quickly veered into accusations about property rights and financial matters.

The Shiv Sena leader, known for his fiery temper, allegedly lost control when his nephew and niece challenged his authority in front of others. In a moment of rage, he brandished his pistol as a means of intimidation.

Local police were called to the scene soon after the incident. Statements were recorded from the victims, the accused, and several eyewitnesses. The pistol, which was found to be legally owned, was seized for forensic examination.

A senior police officer stated, “We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for criminal intimidation and misuse of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing, and we are reviewing CCTV footage from the venue.”

The Shiv Sena district chief has not yet been arrested but has been summoned for questioning. Police are also verifying whether the firearm was carried legally at a public event, as such actions can lead to the suspension of the weapon’s license.

Family members have expressed shock and disappointment, calling for a peaceful resolution and urging the leader to apologize publicly.
