Pune: In an incident involving a minor violating traffic laws, a scuffle broke out between a teenage two-wheeler rider and a traffic police officer in Pune.
During the altercation, the officer’s mobile phone fell and was damaged. Following the incident, authorities registered a case against the minor’s father for allowing an underage individual to ride a vehicle without a license.
The event occurred in the Nagnath Par area of Sadashiv Peth, where police were taking action against vehicles moving in the wrong direction. Around 11 AM on Monday (January 27), a minor boy was intercepted while riding a two-wheeler. Upon being asked for his driving license, it was discovered that he did not possess one.
Police Constable Umesh Narute, from the Vishrambaug Traffic Division, began recording the incident on his mobile phone. However, the boy resisted the enforcement action, leading to a scuffle. During this, Narute’s phone fell to the ground, causing damage.
Following the confrontation, police investigated the matter and found that the minor had been permitted to use the two-wheeler by his father. Consequently, a case was registered against the father under the Motor Vehicles Act for allowing an underage person to operate a vehicle.
The Vishrambaug Police Station has officially taken up the case, and further investigations are being carried out under the supervision of Assistant Inspector Ganesh Fartade.
