Pune: The Indian Railways has announced the launch of four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Pune, increasing the total number of such trains operating from the city to six. This decision is expected to improve travel efficiency and enhance convenience for commuters in the region.
Currently, two Vande Bharat Express trains run from Pune, connecting destinations such as Hubballi, Kolhapur, and Solapur (via Mumbai). These trains are known for their high speed and premium services. With the addition of four new trains, the railway network will further expand, reducing travel time to additional destinations.
The newly proposed routes for the Vande Bharat Express trains are:
Pune to Shegaon
Pune to Vadodara
Pune to Secunderabad
Pune to Belagavi
These trains are expected to commence operations soon, although the exact dates are yet to be announced. According to railway officials, the move aims to make long-distance travel quicker and more comfortable for passengers.
Currently, tickets for the Pune-Kolhapur route are priced at ₹560 for general seating and ₹1,135 for special coaches. This train operates on three days a week: Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Similarly, passengers traveling on the Pune-Hubballi route need to pay ₹1,530 for general coaches and ₹2,780 for special coaches. These pricing details underline the premium service provided by the Vande Bharat Express trains, which include faster travel times, improved onboard facilities, and a comfortable journey experience.
Railway authorities have indicated that the launch of these additional trains will further strengthen Pune's connectivity to other cities, offering a significant advantage to frequent travelers and enhancing the overall travel experience in the region.
