Pune, 19 August 2025: Pune witnessed massive traffic snarls on Sinhagad Road on morning, bringing the daily commute to a halt. Continuous heavy rainfall combined with the already congested road network left thousands of residents stranded in long queues of vehicles.

The worst-affected stretch was near Vitthalwadi, where vehicles were stuck bumper-to-bumper. Commuters reported losing significant time during peak hours, with some describing the situation as "unbearable."

Adding to the chaos, a newly constructed flyover on Sinhagad Road is yet to be inaugurated. With the flyover closed, traffic has been diverted to smaller lanes, further increasing the load on already narrow stretches. Residents have questioned the delay in opening the flyover, saying that timely action could have eased the congestion.

For now, Puneites continue to battle the double blow of heavy monsoon showers and relentless traffic jams, with no immediate relief in sight.
