Pune News: Traffic to Be Halted at Dive Ghat for Blasting Work on Palakhi Highway

Commuters advised to use alternate routes between 11 AM and 2 PM on blasting days

  1. Blasting work is underway at Dive Ghat on the Hadapsar–Dive Ghat stretch of the Palakhi Highway (NH 965) as part of road widening under Package 6.

  2. Traffic movement will be halted between 11 AM to 2 PM on days when blasting takes place, as per police supervision.

  3. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as Katraj–Bopdev Ghat, Kapurhol–Narayanpur, or Hadapsar–Shindwane roads via Saswad.

PUNE, 8th August 2025: Road widening work is currently underway on the Hadapsar to Dive Ghat stretch of the Palkhi Highway (National Highway 965) under Package 6. The work is being carried out by R&C Mohol Highway Pvt. Ltd. under the supervision of the National Highways Authority (Bharatmala Pariyojana).

As part of this construction, rock blasting is required at Dive Ghat. This activity is being conducted under police supervision to ensure public safety. On the days when blasting is scheduled, traffic movement through Dive Ghat will be completely restricted from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

To avoid inconvenience, commuters traveling on both sides of Dive Ghat are requested to take alternative routes during the blasting hours. Suggested alternate routes include:

  • Katraj–Bopdev Ghat via Saswad (State Highway 139)

  • Kapurhol–Narayanpur via Saswad (State Highway 119)

  • Hadapsar–Uruli Kanchan–Shindwane via Saswad (State Highway 61)

  • Khed Shivapur–Saswad Link Road

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the temporary traffic diversions and make necessary travel adjustments in advance.
