For development of Pune's infrastructure, the proposed uniform gradient flyover at Pune University Chowk has received approval. The project, aimed at enhancing traffic flow and reducing congestion, has undergone design changes that have resulted in a substantial reduction in costs. Initially estimated at a higher amount, the project will now be completed at a reduced cost of approximately ₹70 crore.
The flyover will be 210 meters long and 8 meters wide, featuring two lanes to facilitate smoother traffic movement from Shivajinagar towards Aundh. The uniform gradient design ensures a seamless driving experience, reducing the need for sharp inclines or declines.
The revised design has led to a ₹30 crore reduction in project costs, making it more financially viable. This cost-saving measure is a result of optimising the construction plan and materials.
The project is expected to be completed within two years, aligning with Pune's broader infrastructure development goals.
The approval was granted during a meeting chaired by Rajendra Bhosale, marking a crucial step forward in the project's implementation. The decision reflects the city's commitment to upgrading its infrastructure to meet growing demands.
