Pune: Water Supply Disruption on December 12 Due to Maintenance Work

Water supply is expected to resume late on Friday, December 13, and initially at reduced pressure. PMC has urged citizens to store sufficient water to manage the disruption.

Pune: Large-scale maintenance work, including structural and electrical repairs, will be conducted at several water treatment plants in Pune, such as the New and Old Parvati Water Treatment Plants, Bhama Askhed, Warje, SNDT, and others.

Consequently, water supply to a significant portion of the city will be suspended on Thursday, December 12. Water supply is expected to resume late on Friday, December 13, and initially at reduced pressure.

Nandkishor Jagtap, Head of the Water Supply Department of PMC, informed residents about the planned interruptions and urged them to store sufficient water to manage the disruption.

The areas affected by the maintenance work span across Pune, covering major residential, commercial, and industrial zones.

Detailed List of Affected Areas:

  • Parvati MLR and HLR Tank Areas: These include neighborhoods such as Sahakarnagar, Padmavati, Bibwewadi, Parvati Darshan, Nana Peth, Ghorpade Peth, and Mukund Nagar, among others.

  • SNDT MLR and HLR Tank Areas: Residents in Kothrud, Shivajinagar, Model Colony, Gokhale Nagar, Paud Road, and adjoining areas will experience disruption.

  • Warje and Gandhi Bhavan Areas: Key regions like Warje Malwadi, Bavdhan, and parts of Karve Nagar will face water shortages.

  • Other Zones: Areas around Aundh, Bopodi, Yerwada, Vishrantwadi, and parts of Khadki will also be impacted by the temporary suspension.

The Water Supply Department has deployed teams to expedite the repair work and ensure the restoration of services within the specified timeframe. Residents are advised to prepare in advance and use water judiciously.
