Pune: Women Police Officers Lead Awareness Rally Ahead of International Women’s Day

The rally was flagged off from Shaniwarwada under the leadership of DCP Sandeep Singh Gill and covered major city landmarks.

Pune: In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Pune City Police has planned a series of events running till March 10 to honor and empower women. As part of these celebrations, a motorcycle rally was organized on Friday (March 7) by women police officers and personnel from Zone 1, promoting the message of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter).

The rally was flagged off from Shaniwarwada under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sandeep Singh Gill and covered major city landmarks, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road, Budhwar Chowk, Belbaug Chowk, Lakshmi Road, Sevasadan, Lokmanya Tilak Chowk, Khandoji Baba Chowk, Goodluck Chowk, and Ferguson College Road, before concluding at Bal Gandharva Chowk.

The concluding ceremony was graced by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, who commended the participants and extended his Women’s Day wishes by presenting them with flower bouquets in recognition of their efforts.

The rally was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Praveenkumar Patil and coordinated by DCP Sandeep Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anuja Deshmane, Senior Police Inspectors Vijaymala Pawar, Girisha Nimbalkar, and Sharmila Sutar.

As part of the extended Women’s Day celebrations, Pune City Police has scheduled various awareness campaigns and events, aiming to highlight the role of women in law enforcement and society.
