Pune: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, announced that a meeting involving central and state government officials will be convened soon to discuss airport-related issues across Maharashtra, including the much-anticipated Purandar Airport project.
Mohol shared this update while addressing the media on Friday (January 3) on the occasion of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s birth anniversary at Mahatma Phule Wada. The event was attended by MLA Hemant Rasane and several other dignitaries.
Purandar Airport Discussions to Progress
"The location for the Purandar Airport has already been finalized. A meeting between central government officials and the Chief Minister will take place shortly to address pending matters related to the project. This is expected to pave the way for the airport's development," said Mohol.
Clarification on Guardian Minister Controversy
Responding to questions about the ongoing controversy surrounding the Guardian Minister post for Pune, Mohol dismissed claims of internal disputes. "There is no conflict. Leaders and workers are aligned, and the party leadership's decision will be respected," he stated.
Former Shiv Sena Leaders Joining BJP
Addressing the entry of former Shiv Sena corporators into BJP, Mohol said, "We welcome those who wish to join us. However, BJP does not compel anyone to switch sides."
Demand for Independent Municipal Elections
Regarding BJP workers' demands to contest local body elections independently, Mohol remarked, "Our party operates with discipline. Leaders' decisions are always adhered to. A decision regarding this will be made after the municipal elections are officially announced."
