Pune: In a violent act of revenge for the recent murder of Sudhir Gawas, four gangsters went on a rampage in Yerawada, Pune, early Monday (August 5) morning.

Armed with machetes, they vandalized motorcycles and auto rickshaws parked along the roadside. The gangsters brandished their weapons and loudly threatened to kill anyone who interfered.

They attacked a bystander, Praveen Bhagwan Kamble, leaving him seriously injured. The incident took place around 1 a.m. between Mauli Chowk and Mahindra Society in Jayaprakash Nagar.

In Yerawada, Sudhir Chandrakant alias Balu Gawas (25, resident of Jayaprakash Nagar, Yerawada) was murdered by three individuals at around 2:30 a.m. on July 17.

Gawas had longstanding disputes with the Acharya family and had several serious criminal cases registered against him, including assault. He had been released from prison a few days prior and had gotten into another altercation with them.

Subsequently, the Acharya family pursued him with weapons and killed him early in the morning. This has incited his associates to seek revenge.

In today's incident, Praveen Bhagwan Kamble (36, resident of Jayaprakash Nagar, Yerawada) filed a complaint at Yerawada police station.

According to the police, Kamble was taking a walk between Mauli Chowk and Mahindra Society when four gangsters arrived with machetes and other weapons, seeking revenge for Sudhir Gawas's murder.

They vandalized motorcycles and auto rickshaws parked by the roadside, shouting that anyone who interferes would be killed, and brandished their weapons menacingly. They attacked Kamble, inflicting serious injuries.

The police are searching for the four gangsters, and Assistant Police Inspector Solunke is investigating the case.
