Pune: A political controversy has erupted ahead of the Pune District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting scheduled under the chairmanship of Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar.
The exclusion of Shiv Sena MLA Vijay Shivtare from the DPC membership has raised questions within the Mahayuti alliance, while MLA Rahul Kul and MLA Sunil Shelke have been included in the committee.
Vijay Shivtare, the only Shiv Sena MLA from Pune district, has been removed from the District Planning Committee. This decision has led to political speculation, especially given the existing tensions within the ruling alliance over the Guardian Minister post. The exclusion is expected to further escalate disagreements within the coalition.
This is the first DPC meeting under the Mahayuti government, making it significant for district-level development planning. The meeting will discuss and approve the district’s draft development plan, and it will also determine fund allocations for MLAs to carry out development work in their respective constituencies.
With the state budget session approaching, the Planning Department had instructed officials to prepare annual district development plans. Accordingly, various departments have been working on the implementation of these plans, and today’s meeting will finalize key decisions.
The exclusion of the Shiv Sena MLA from the committee has led to intense speculation about internal differences within the Mahayuti alliance, with political observers closely watching the developments.
