SET Exam 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University to Conduct Exam on May 4

The nodal agency SPPU conducts the eligibility test for assistant professor positions in universities and senior colleges in Maharashtra and Goa.

Pune: The Savitribai Phule Pune University’s SET Department has announced that the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) will be held on May 4, 2025. The examination, conducted for students from Maharashtra and Goa, will follow the traditional offline OMR-based format, as confirmed by the acting registrar, Dr. Jyoti Bhakre.

According to the University Grants Commission (UGC), the SET exam was initially announced to be conducted online. However, after deliberation, it has been confirmed that the 40th SET exam, like the previous 39 iterations, will follow the traditional offline OMR-based format.

Dr. Bhakre further clarified that the exam details, including schedules, syllabus, and other related information, will be updated periodically on the university’s official website.

The 39th SET exam was conducted on April 7, 2024, across 298 exam centers in 17 major cities of Maharashtra and Goa. A total of 128,243 students registered for the exam, with 109,154 appearing.
