Pune: Lakhs of Bhim Sainiks who gathered at Koregaon Bhima to pay homage at the Vijay Stambh on the occasion of the 207th Shaurya Diwas were provided with vital healthcare services.
A health camp, organized jointly by Symbiosis International University and Sheela Raj Salve Memorial Trust, ensured medical treatment for thousands under their ‘Bhima Patient Service’ initiative.
The camp, held under the leadership of Padma Bhushan Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Founder of Symbiosis University, and Adv. Avinash Raj Salve, Head of the Salve Memorial Trust, has been an annual tradition for six years. It symbolizes a unique tribute to the Vijay Stambh through healthcare support.
Inaugurated by PMC City Engineer Prashant Waghmare, the health camp provided free medical check-ups, medicines, and pain relief treatments. The event saw the presence of notable personalities, including Water Supply Engineer Suresh Sakhare, Sushil Mohite, and Adv. Atul Raj Salve.
Commending the initiative, Waghmare stated, "Providing healthcare services to Bhim Sainiks from across the country reflects remarkable social commitment. This effort by Symbiosis University and the Salve Memorial Trust stands as a meaningful and unique homage to the Vijay Stambh."
Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Avinash Raj Salve remarked, "Every year, lakhs of Bhim Sainiks walk long distances from villages to honor the Vijay Stambh. This health camp ensures their well-being and provides immense satisfaction in serving thousands."
