Pune Crime: Police Arrest Three Men Terrorising Market with Sickle

Shirur police arrested three men who terrorised the market by attacking a worker with a sickle and scissors. CCTV footage of the attack went viral, prompting swift police action.

Shirur police have arrested three men who were creating panic in the busy market area by brandishing sickles and attacking a worker inside a fertilizer shop. The accused—Shahid Gafur Sheikh, Sonu alias Ashpak Gafur Sheikh, and Pradip Bhausaheb Gaikwad—were terrorizing the local populace by waving deadly weapons and committing violent acts.

According to police reports, the trio entered the fertilizer shop and launched a brutal attack on an employee using a sickle and scissors, causing serious injuries. The incident was captured on CCTV, which went viral and caused widespread alarm among shopkeepers and residents, leading many to close their shops and flee the area in fear.

The Shirur police’s crime investigation team acted promptly, arresting the accused within hours of the incident. The weapons used in the attack were seized, and the accused were produced before the court, which remanded them to police custody for two days. Further investigation is underway.

The incident shook the local community, highlighting concerns about public safety in crowded market areas. Police have assured increased patrolling and strict action against such violent elements to restore peace and confidence among residents and traders.
