Pune: In a move to strengthen STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and innovation in India, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune launched the second edition of the STEM for All initiative.

The three-day event, held from February 28 to March 2, 2025, at the Kalpakghar Community Tinkering Centre in Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park, was supported by Tata Technologies as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

During the hackathon, participants engaged in four core areas:

  • Alternative problem-solving approaches

  • Emphasis on product quality and innovation

  • Application of specialized knowledge in STEM

  • Hands-on skills for practical project execution

The competition encouraged interdisciplinary learning, with participants developing working prototypes without the use of batteries. Teams are provided with essential lab equipment, digital tools, and mentorship from experienced educators.

Additionally, structured training sessions on technology integration in classrooms, gamification in education, and best teaching practices are conducted for educators and ATL mentors. The most innovative contributions are recognized with awards to encourage excellence in STEM fields.
