Pune: In a remarkable achievement, three young aspirants from Galandwadi No. 1 have successfully cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination, securing prestigious government positions. Two candidates have been appointed as Tax Assistants, while one has been selected as a Revenue Assistant Officer.

Hard Work Overcomes Adversity

This success story is even more inspiring because two of these candidates are children of daily wage laborers, while one comes from a family of a driver. Their journey reflects sheer determination, perseverance, and commitment to education, despite economic hardships.

The successful candidates are:

Anjali Vitthal Waghmare – Selected as Revenue Assistant Officer

Pooja Mohan Galande – Selected as Tax Assistant

Akshay Appa Shingate – Selected as Tax Assistant

A Village Once Struggling, Now Thriving with Officers

Galandwadi No. 1, situated five kilometers west of Indapur, was once known as a village of farmers, laborers, and daily wage workers. Education was not a priority for many families, as survival and livelihood were the primary concerns.

However, in 1980, with the construction of the Ujani Dam, the region saw an economic transformation. The expansion of irrigation farming, establishment of Karmayogi Sugar Factory, and the Sonai Dairy Union helped uplift the village’s financial condition. Gradually, education gained importance, and several youths started pursuing government exams. Over the years, the village produced six agricultural assistants, multiple government officers, and teachers.

The latest MPSC results have further strengthened the village’s reputation as "The Village of Officers." Among the newly appointed officers:

  • Pooja Galande, daughter of daily wage laborer Mohan Galande,

  • Akshay Shingate, son of laborer Appa Shingate, have both been selected as Tax Assistants.

  • Anjali Waghmare, daughter of Vitthal Waghmare, a driver at Sonai Dairy Union, has been appointed as a Revenue Assistant Officer.

Their achievements have been widely recognized, and they have become role models for aspiring students in their village. Local leaders, villagers, and well-wishers have extended their congratulations, appreciating their hard work and perseverance.
